I run oil painting workshops for both beginners to experienced painters.

Beginners Workshops – are aimed at those who know little or nothing about the medium to those who have dabbled but wish to re-kindle their painting again. These workshops will open (or re-open) your world to the wonders of oil painting. Offering the practical step by step aids and inspiration. They will give you an excellent foundation from which to start painting (again) and will cover :- materials/equipment, reference/inspiration material, preparation of substrate, plotting, colour mixing and rendering. Demonstration will be given and painters will begin and almost complete a painting.

Portrait Workshops – for the more experienced – offer a guide to expressive impressionistic portraiture. It will be a time to explore tone, colour and texture, creating portraits with emotion, character and depth. Tapping into your intuition, using various sources of inspiration to create expressive portraits rather than a photographic realism.

The things I knew before are now secondary to all the things you have taught; they are still important, but now I can put them into an uncomplicated category. Its hard to explain how much you have freed me from previous concepts, but please know that I am very grateful. for your great workshop I so enjoyed it ! I went and bought oils the next day.
